Where the Ocean Breeze Comes From

Apart from waking up this morning and wondering where the hell I was, Friday has been a good day, and the adjusting is coming along.

There's still relentless anxiety, mostly about where our next living arrangement will come from, but for now, we had a good day (see photo: Katrina, Teresa and I visit the coastline for the first time)

And two trips to Vivanda later, we had dinner. It's still hard for me not be astonished by the sheer volume of people in such a small space. The noise is incessant: car horns, sirens, alarms, pigeons...strange parades at midnight with only three notes in the horn section...the never-ending movement of speeding cars and yelling people: the chaos is the culture.

Homesick levels so far seem to be moderate among us, though i'm not sure how much of it is subconsciously surreal still.

On our walk down to the promenade, we discovered perhaps the most cool eatery of all time:

Teresa wants to have dinner here on her birthday, and so far no one has objected.

Wow! That coastline looks amazing. I hope you get a chance to go play in the sand soon!
